Christmas Lights Up Las Vegas
During the holidays, Las Vegas can be one of the most festive places to visit. It’s cold enough to drink hot chocolate day and night, and there are more lights than ever. It’s a 24-hour holiday party. Here are some of our favorite scenes from our recent mid-holiday trip to Las Vegas. Lights! Candy! Action!
On the way in to town, we saw the Ethel M Cactus Gardens. It’s all lit up for Christmas. We stopped in the working candy factory and the store because, as that sign says, the best gifts are wrapped in chocolate.
The Bellagio is famous for its floral displays in its conservatory. Rightfully so.
Las Vegas is also home to the world’s tallest chocolate fountain. It’s about 27 feet tall and circulates 2 tons of chocolate at 120 quarts per minute. White, milk, and dark. Mesmerizing! This year, there is also a Grinch made from 100 pounds of chocolate and 100 pounds of fondant. Both at Jean Philippe Patisseerie at the Bellagio and Aria, respectively.
The decorations at the Aria, Wynn, and Palazzo/Venetian are all breathtaking.
The candy stores got in on it, too! At Hershey’s Chocolate World the Statue of Liberty was recreated out of red twizzlers and Santa sped by on sleds at Jean Philippe at the Aria.
And the most amazing thing to remind us that we weren’t in Santa’s toy shop? The Willy Wonka Slot Machines. Yes, it is a thing. Only in Vegas.

This story is a jackpot all the way! 7-7-7! We love going to Vegas in the winter time. The crowds are smaller; the room rates are lower and the decorations are a great way for the family to enjoy the holidays. thanks for the great photo, also.
Husband and wife, Dale Ryan and Dyanah Musgrave, of Boulder City, were featured on ABC’s show The Great Christmas Light Fight.
