5 Tech Accessories That Go With Us Everywhere

Compared to many people, we travel light when it comes to tech. We always bring our mobile phones (iPhone 6 Plus and Samsumg Note 4) and Samsung Chromebook 2 with us everywhere. Here are 5 tech accessories – newer and older – that we regularly use and think you may find useful, too.

1 – Jackery Bar portable battery back-up
Having your electronic devices with you is great! They are necessary for taking photos, communicating with friends and family, looking up location and maps, and more. Of course, your devices are worthless if they have no juice. Anywhere we travel, we always have at least one portable battery backup. We recently got the new Jackery Bar to replace some old, outdated backups. It’s powerful, quick, easy to use and, at just 1x2x4 inches and 5.44 ounces, it’s small and light enough to carry in your pocket. It’s a universal USB connection, so you can use it with any device. Oh, and one more thing…it costs less than $20. You read that right. Get it here.

2 – Ollo clip 4-in-1 photo lens
Ollo is the leader in mobile phone camera lens technology. While your phone may take great photos without any attachment, this 4-in-1 lens combo will boost your ability to capture even better photos to remember your trip. With two macro lenses, a fisheye, and a wide-angle lens, you’ll be able to tell stories from your trips at a much deeper visual level. The attachment is easy to clip on and take off, and is so small and light that it won’t make a difference in your backpack or purse. We use it for travel photos as well as capturing close-up images of candy. For iPhone 6 Plus and 6 S Plus, get it here. For all other devices, simply click the link and search for your model.

3 – Kenu Highline security leash protective case
We learned about this item during our first trip to Europe where there are a lot of pickpockets. Imagine you are taking the perfect photo, only to have someone run up to you and grab the phone right out of your hand. It happens. This case locks onto your phone and connects a Kevlar leash to your belt loop. While it may take a little getting used to, once you are in the habit of using it, you won’t be sorry. If you value your phone and all the photos, contacts, emails, and personal information on it, keep it connected to you at all times when traveling abroad. You can get one for the iPhone 6 Plus and 6 S Plus here or click the link and find the right fit for your device.

4 – RFID Blocking Sleeves
It used to be that jewelry, wallets, and cameras were the main items that thieves wanted to snatch from tourists. With advances in technology, thieves are now using devices that scan your credit cards, IDs, and passports to get valuable data they can use to steal your identity. To combat the scanning of personal information, secure your credit cards, driver’s license, and passport in these thin sleeves that block those scanners. We have them on all of our cards and passports. Better safe than sorry. Get the 12 pack (10 credit card + 2 passport) just like we use here.

5 – Monprice Hi-Fi Noise Canceling Headphones
On the larger side of the tech accessory spectrum, we have noise-canceling headphones. They can make all the difference when you want to cut out the background and focus on your music, audio book or movie. The active noise-reduction technology really gives you the peace and quiet that you need when focusing on something like reading or writing. We’ve tried a few different brands and were most impressed with these. The little extras like the included inline microphone and adapters for airline use or Internet telephony were a big plus. For the price, right in the middle of the field, but significantly lower than big brand competitors, we find the Monoprice to exceed our expectations on performance. Buy a pair of these today right here.

BONUS TIP: OK, you’re excited about your upcoming trip. You’re excitedly packing all your clothes and electronics. Make sure not to forget the necessary cables to connect your devices. It happens and it can be expensive to buy what you need while on the road. If you are in need of any cables (always good to have a back-up) or additional accessories, you can get them here.
